cyberpunk

today i found a freeware application that can potentially change your state of consciousness. its called SBaGen and what it does it generate slightly different sine wave frequencies entering each side of your headphones. the effect is called a binaural beat and its like a droning pulse in your head. supposedly your brain will sync to the binaural beat and the different preset drones which are customizable in SBaGen can create altered states of mind. so by experimenting with the sound and seeing the effect you can create your own experiences (psychedelic, out of body, lucid). when i first came across this it seemed like something that would be out of a hacker fiction anime but i'm hopeful that it'll work for me and give me new places to explore.

the wired

i've always believed in the theory of a universal consciousness. its like a psychic network of global information rooted in our subconscious minds. for example: waking up 2 seconds before someone enters you room or getting an incoming call from the person who's number you were going to dial. my favorite is a dream i had when i was around 7. it was of a high rise apartment building in emeryville and me walking along a shoreline close by. i've never been to this place at that point in my life. one day, while sitting in a car we passed the building and that was the first time i saw it in real life but i knew the place and i remembered the dream so the connection i have with that place is always in my memory.

recently i've been reading about the internet and how everyone communicating globally increases the universal consciousness. some speculate that the next step of evolution will be an awakening of the universal consciousness and we'll all communicate globally at a psychic level.
